Galaxy Tab 2 Jelly Bean

Samsung started rolling out Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update for its Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in December last year which continues to reach more and more devices across all regions globally. The company has now added the smaller Galaxy Tab 2 sibling to the list as well, according to sources.

Samsung, not known for delivering many Android updates to its devices, has made an admirable effort in the past few months to keep up with the rapidly changing OS environment. It has delivered new Android updates for its new as well as old phones and tablets, delighting customers and fans around the world.

AndroidCentral has now reported that the Korean company has now begun rolling out Android OS v4.1 (Jelly Bean) to its compact Galaxy Tab 2 7.0?model, keeping up with its new found commitment towards delivering regular OS updates.

Both tablets were previously running Google's Android OS v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is important to note here that Jelly Bean is being rolled out for Tab 2 7.0 only in Americas for now, but will come to other regions soon.

AndroidCentral writes:

We have no idea of the mechanics behind Samsung's update schedule, but? we hope that the rest of the world will see the Jelly Bean update in short order.

It further adds:

To check for your own update, look in the settings under "About tablet" or use Samsung Kies' update tool. As 4.1.1 brings much smoother performance and great new features like Google Now, this is one update you won't want to skip.
